Wolf Rock Cave is far out in the Louisiana wilderness and remarkably, was once home to Neolithic hunters and gatherers of the late Stone Age. The question might be asked, who were they? What exactly were they up to during this era in North America.

Author James Turner crafts an exciting tale of a small band of wanderers living alone ten to fifteen thousand years ago. Included in his knowledgeable narrative are geological data of the late Pleistocene, and ecological associations of plant life & animals including wooly mammoth, panther, bison & dire wolf.

James Turner has also written, The Hill Country Almanac, a guide to environmentally friendly living; Tight Walk, the value of traditional neighborhood life; Southern Plants, a comprehensive survey of the identification, selection and use of plants of the Southern United States (with the late Dr. Neil Odenwald); Drawing With Confidence for artists, architects, interior designers and landscape architects; and A Louisiana Journal for the Louisiana Trust for Historic Preservations.
