Born and raised in Mansfield, Louisiana, Helen Jordan graduated Mansfield High in 1945, then furthered her education at Texas State College for Women. In two years' time, she transferred and graduated from Louisiana State University, married, and moved to Shreveport, LA working as a social worker for the State of Louisiana.
In 2010 after the death of her parents and brother, Jordan inherited her parent's cedar chest filled with pictures and memorabilia. Hence her desire to pursue genealogy.
