Robert D. Fleming has adopted Louisiana as his home state. He counts it a blessing to have spent his sixteen years of retirement enjoying the luxury of gardening, sunsets, wood working, and writing poetry. As a boy, Bob was raised in Missouri and graduated from college in California. While in college, he met and married his wife, Carol. As he enjoys his 83rd year of life, he is blessed to have a loving wife of 59 years. 

Bob was as a licensed surveyor, highway superintendent of roads, and pastor of small mission churches. He has spent his adult life volunteering at rescue missions, preaching weekly services at nursing homes, and working at second hand stores preparing items for resale.

Since 1985, he has written approximately 2000 poems. In 2021, he published his first poem book Heaven, Home & Humor which features spiritual and family poems. In 2022, he published three more poem books: The Travels of a Poet which features poems about travels with his family; Strength for the Day which features poems to give strength and encouragement for each day and help through the trials of life; and Bitter to Sweet which features poems about the bitter disappointments in life and how God can turn them to sweetness. This book you hold is the second printing of Bob’s well received blessing to others. In 2024, Bob published Legacy which is a complete work of his poetry over the past 40 years.
