Oil Legacy Cuisine, published in honor of the centennial of the discovery of oil in Louisiana, contains over 250 pages filled with recipes from people that call Louisiana home.

In creating the Louisiana Oil Centennial Commission along with the Louisiana Legislature Louisiana Governor M.J. "Mike" Foster said of the event, "In the colorful and storied history of Louisiana there has been no other event with such a huge economic impact on our state as the discovery of oil in the Evangline Oil Field."
