Charlotte Anne Schexnider-Chiasson's parents were a part of the Louisiana Migration in the late 1940s who left the rice fields for work at the oil refineries. She has worked for a local newspaper, then fifteen years for the Bridge City Chamber of Commerce where she began interviewing pillars of the community on local history. Still living in Bridge City, Charlotte is the charter president of The Friends of Bridge City Public Library and still serves as an officer.
