Tom Nixon
Fly Tying & Fly Fishing for Bass and Panfish
The third edition by Tom Nixon, Fly Tying and Fly Fishing, is a must-read for anyone who ties, fishes with, flies for bass, and panfish. Expanded and revised, this edition is a more valuable source of information for those of us who fish for warm water species.
Tom Nixon was born and went to school in East St. Louis, Illinois. He completed his education in Mechanical Engineering with the International Correspondance Schools in 1944. He started fly fishing for Trout, Smallmouth Bass, and Bluegill in Missouri's Current River Basin in the early forties, and soon, for financial, esthetic, and practical reasons, he started tying his own flies.
