Reverend Jules O. Daigle (1900-1998), an ordained Catholic priest since 1925, reared in Lafayette, Louisiana, spent thousands of hours compiling these two books, A DICTIONARY OF THE CAJUN LANGUAGE and CAJUN SELF-TAUGHT, true examples of his deep love and dedication to the Cajun culture and it's people. Rev. Daigle's Cajun Dictionary is recognized as a great accomplishment. His work was likened to that of Samuel Johnson compiling the first English dictionary in 1755. Rev.
