A life-long enthusiast of the great outdoors, Mike Lane developed the Web site RodnReel.com in 1995. RodnReel was one of the first fishing Web sites established in the United States and currently boasts over 220,000 devoted readers. In addition to being at the helm of one of the most popular sources of outdoors information, Lane is the author of The Offshore Fisherman's Bible . This book is a compilation of the oilrigs and wrecks in the Gulf of Mexico off the Louisiana coast. His years of offshore experience as an ROV (underwater robot) operator and supervisor has helped him identify the many deepwater species included in the Angler's Guide to Fishes of the Gulf of Mexico. In 1998, he developed another website, RodnGun.com. Besides being a writer, photographer, and webmaster, Lane also gives presentations about the fishing and hunting industries.
