Above Baton Rouge: A Pilot's View Then and Now
Photographer and pilot Fred C. Frey, Jr., began taking aerial photographs of Baton Rouge in the early 1960s as an innovative business practice. The activity became a labor of love that he continued into the 21st Century. Above Baton Rouge is the evidence of Frey's forty-year love affair, comprising over 140 then-and-now aerial photographs, presented as pairs, and chronicling the inspiring developments and changes that have taken place over the years in Louisiana's capital city. Text by journalist Tom Guarisco accompanies each pair of photographs, identifying key landmarks and features and commenting on their differences.
