I am a retired, 61-year old oil refinery worker. My wife and I have three grown children and four grandchildren, with one on the way. I grew up in a rural setting in southwest Louisiana. One of the first things I plan to do, once these books are printed, is to mail a copy to one of my childhood neighbors. She was in college, studying to be an RN when I was about five years old. She called me over to her parents’ house, for me to read “Chicken Little” to her family. I couldn’t read, but I had the story memorized word-for-word. To add to their amusement, I couldn’t properly pronounce the word “sky”. I would say, “The sky is falling!” I hope “How Fuzzy Was He?” can help create similar lasting memories for all those who read it. In closing, I would like to acknowledge the real-life inspiration for this book: our own black and white toy poodle, “Bugga”. My wife and I rescued him from a roadside ditch on a stormy July afternoon some six years ago and he’s added much joy to our lives. Bugga and I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed writing it!
