Elton Wayne Brindley grew up in Starks, Louisiana. Work was hard to come by, and the old timers would sit around in the dark of night talking of finding hidden money and buried treasures.

Elton decided one day to write down the story that drifted in and out of his mind for years. Having no typewriter or computer, he would stretch out of his bed with his pen and note book and write for hours, sometimes laughing as the words began to flow from an unseen hand.
